The New York City metropolitan area is serviced by 3 major airports: LaGuardia (approximately 9 miles away), John F. Kennedy International (approximately 15 miles away), and Newark Liberty International (approximately 15 miles away). The Convening location is accessible by public transportation, car service, and taxi from all 3 airports.
Subway is generally the easiest way to commute around NYC. The Convening venue is accessible by multiple subway lines. Within a 5 min walk, the venue is accessible by the 1 train at 28th Street, A, C, E and 2, 3 trains at 34th St Penn station. B, D, F, M, N, Q, R trains are accessible by 34st Herald Square. Participants can also take the Long Island Railroad (LIRR), New Jersey Transit, and Amtrak to New York Penn Station. ***Both the 34th St Penn Station and 34th St Herald Square stations are wheelchair accessible.
Parking is difficult and we recommend utilizing public transportation to travel around New York City. However, if you do decide to drive, we recommend you use the pay parking lots to avoid ticketing and fines. Rates in nearby parking lots can range from $12-$30/hr.
On Sunday May 1st, childcare will be provided for all children under 4 years old. It is expected that children 4 years of age and older will attend the Youth and Teen programming. As there is not organized Youth and Teen programming on Monday, May 2nd and Tuesday May 3rd, childcare will be provided to all children 13 years of age and younger. Those 14 years of age and older will be invited to attend the larger programming at their parent's discretion.
CBST is fully wheelchair and stroller accessible, and includes gender neutral restrooms. Please let us know about any other access needs you may have when you register for the convening and we will work to make your experience at the convening a great one.
We will provide two meals and certain snack options throughout the day. All food will be glatt kosher and certified by a recognized and reputable certifying agency.
